Fernando is one of the Champions in Paladins.

Though not of noble birth nor having any real combat training, Fernando assumed the mantle of knighthood when the knight he served met an untimely fate. From that moment on, he wandered from one heroic adventure to the next, making a name for himself throughout the Realm. When the Magistrate called on all loyal houses to join their efforts against the Resistance, he heeded their summons with pride.

If his valor in combat and charming confidence can keep his allies from discovering his secret, he might just live to become the champion he knows he can be.

Summary[edit | edit source]

Fernando is a front line champion with formidable defenses thanks to his massive health pool and his Shield skill, which provides cover against enemy fire for himself and allies behind him. He carries a Flame Lance which acts much like a flamethrower, projecting a stream of fire in an area infront of him. He can also shoot a Fireball that deals damage to all enemies it hits. Fernando can use his Charge skill to dash forward a short distance, which allows him to quickly reposition himself and damage any enemies he goes through. His ultimate skill, Immortal, grants him and nearby allies immunity to death for a short duration.

Flame Lance

Area Damage

A short range flamethrower that deals 35 damage per hit every .1s and applies a Damage Over Time effect for 200 damage over 2s. The Flame Lance cannot be manually reloaded and instead recharges when not being used.

  • The damage over time effect does 5 ticks of 40 damage over the 2s duration.
  • The damage over time effect does not stack, but multiple applications refresh its duration.
  • Gains 0.4% ultimate charge per damage tick of Flame Lance, for a maximum of 2% ultimate charge overall.
  • The damage over time effect gains lifesteal from Life Rip.
  • Has a range of 50.
  • Utilizes a charge bar, which recharges when not being used, instead of using ammo.
  • Weapon's reload state is referenced as "Overheating" in Fernando's cards.
  • Has a 2s reload time and is affected by reload speed items and cards, like Deft Hands.
  • There is a 0.5s delay before Flame Lance beings to recharge, and it takes 1s for it to fully recharge.
  • Can be fired uninterrupted for 5s before overheating.
  • Incurs a 50% movement speed reduction while firing.

Expand your shield to block 8,000 damage for 10s. You cannot attack while your shield is active.

Details

  • Cooldown is reduced based on the percentage of health left on the shield when the skill ends or is canceled. The higher the health of the shield, the lower its initial cooldown value.
  • Cooldown reduction scales linearly, for a minimum cooldown of 9s for a maximum health shield.
  • Can be canceled early by re-activating the skill, using Fireball or Immortal, or by emoting.

  • This weapon no longer uses a reload. Instead it uses an Overheat System. Firing Overheats the weapon, and not firing for a short time will cool it back down. If the Overheat bar drains fully the Weapon Overheats, incurring a long recharge period.
