Androxus ▶️ is a Flank Champion in Paladins, added on March 11th, 2016.
Lore[ | ]
This is Androxus' official bio currently found in his champion page in-game.
Androxus was once a noble lawman of the Outer Tribunal circuit judges. He and his former partner, Lex, were relentless in their pursuit of criminals and threats to the natural order.
After a tragic confrontation with an Abyssal being claiming to be a goddess, he became afflicted with an otherworldly disease, dooming him with an endless hunger for souls. Now he wanders the Realm, adrift, in a never-ending quest to quell that hunger, stripped of his rank and duties with the Tribunal, and condemned to live with a cursed disease that siphons his soul for eternity.
This is an unofficial version of Androxus' bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding him. Sources can be found here.
Once a noble lawman of the Outer Tribunal, Androxus and his former partner, Lex, were relentless in their pursuit of criminals and anything that threatened the natural order of the Realm. However, during a tragic confrontation with a sinister Abyssal entity claiming to be a goddess, Androxus changed; now afflicted with an otherworldly disease cursing him with an endless hunger for souls, Androxus abandoned his duties, quickly rising to the top of the most-wanted list. Though he seemingly wishes to redeem himself in the eyes of the Magistrate, Androxus is currently stuck with the curse for all eternity, as he's hunted down by his former partner.
During one notable encounter, Lex would almost defeat Androxus, only for Zhin and Maeve to join the fight. Later, Androxus would attack Ash while she was fighting Tyra, only for him to be quickly defeated.
This was Androxus' in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.
Once a noble lawman of the Outer Tribunal circuit judges, Androxus and his former partner, Lex, were relentless in their pursuit of criminals and threats to the natural order. After a tragic confrontation with a deceitful goddess, though, he became afflicted with an otherworldly disease dooming him with an endless hunger for souls. Now he wanders the realm adrift to feed that hunger, stripped of his rank and duties with the Tribunal, and condemned to live with the curse for all time.
Summary[ | ]
Androxus is a heavy damage flank champion, capable of gunning down unsuspecting enemies and fleeing before the enemy team can regroup and finish him off. His primary gun, the cursed revolver, is a semi-automatic sidearm that excels at short range and has heavy damage falloff. If an enemy makes the mistake of getting too close to him or not seeing Androxus come up behind them, he can use Defiance, a short range punch that can impact multiple enemies at once, dealing the same amount of damage as his primary weapon. Androxus's Nether Step ability will cause him to dash forward three times in any direction, horizontally or vertically, allowing him to quickly ambush his prey or otherwise escape undesirable confrontations. To add to his mobility, Androxus can float through the air holding the jump button, allowing him to gradually descend on an unaware target or hide high in the map until he heals. Reversal allows Androxus to absorb all frontal damage coming at him and redirect a large portion of it back at the enemy, making him a dangerous target for high dps targets. With his ult, Accursed Arm, Androxus focuses his cursed power into his revolver arm, generating a demonic cannon that fires blast damage shots powerful enough to devastate grouped up enemies or to bring down most heavy champions. While not the most mobile flank, Androxus can overpower most combatants, especially if he gets the first shot in. However, once his abilities are on cooldown, Androxus can be quickly caught off-guard and unable to escape.

Trivia[ | ]
Lore
- Androxus was cursed by an Abyssal entity claiming to be a goddess.[2]
- It's been implied Androxus was cursed at some point after Corvus joined the Outer Tribunal.[3]
- Vora has implied Androxus is attempting to redeem himself in the eyes of the Magistrate.[4]
- One of the magnums Lex wields used to belong to Androxus.[5][6]
- Androxus and Lex are both very stubborn, which is the implied reason the two haven't talked their conflict out.[7]
- Androxus wears his mask and cloak to cover what happened to him as a result of the curse.[8]
- The weapon Androxus wields was spawned from the cursed energy of the Abyssal entity following Androxus slaying them.[9]
- The entity Androxus killed was believed unable to be killed in any way.[10]
- Androxus cursed arm is the one he used to kill the entity, with his ultimate being Androxus unleashing the full energy of the entity.[11]
- Androxus' curse is actively changing his body.[12]
- Androxus was a high-profile judge during his time with the Tribunal.[13]
- While there have been a number of concepts seemingly showing Androxus' skin color and race, none of them should be taken as a canon indication of what Androxus looks like under his mask,[14] especially as there currently is no canon look of Androxus prior to his corruption.[15]
- Despite this, as well as Androxus appearing with white skin in Kinessa's teaser trailer,[16] Paladins artist ThunderBrush eventually claimed to consider a version of Androxus he drew for "Thirstmas" to be the canon version of his unmasked self.[17] This version of Androxus is black, but bald and a bit pale as a result of his curse.[18][19] Despite all this, ThunderBrush has made it clear the Thirstmas images are just for fun and are largely based on his own headcanons, indicating that this information about Androxus is also merely his own headcanon and shouldn't be taken as his actual canonical appearance.[20][21]
- Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that Androxus would be around 6'1 or 185cm tall.

Concepts
- An early concept[22] of Androxus originally featured him wielding a large broken sword, as well as what seems to be an SMG alongside it, and of course, an incredibly different design in general.
- Another early concept[23] featured an additional alternate design, showing him with a different sword, a revolver, as well as more exposed arms, and a visible upper face.
- More early concepts can be seen here.
- Several early weapon designs can be seen here.[24]
- Androxus had several icon concepts prior to the final choice being settled on.[25]
- Androxus was the winner of an old skin competition, which after further voting resulted in the Huntsman skin being added. However, several additional skins were also shown.[26] This included the Dragon Knight, Bomb Squad, Oni Slayer, and Desert Warrior skins; with the exception of the Dragon Knight skin eventually being added as the Steel Forged skin, none of these designs ever saw the light of day again.
Other
- Androxus was one of the original characters during Paladins' closed alpha, where he had a rather different visual design, as well as different abilities.[27] He ended up removed before the game entered closed beta, later being added back with an appearance and kit more reminiscent of his current self.
- Prior to Androxus' re-addition, he made a cameo appearance in Kinessa's teaser trailer,[28] appearing similar to how he would eventually look, though his eyes were blue, while his upper arm was uncovered and showed normal uncorrupted skin.
- When Androxus was readded, he gained his iconic design, but originally, his revolver looked slightly different.[9]
- In older versions of Paladins, there used to be a number of additional recolors of default champions. For Androxus, these recolors included the Sanguine and Gaunt skins.
- Having been present in the mobile game 'Paladins Strike', Androxus received unique skins exclusive to Strike. These skins include Fallen Lord Androxus, Godsprayer Androxus, and Wraith Androxus.
