Seris ▶️ is a Support Champion in Paladins, added on April 19th, 2017.
Lore[ | ]
This is Seris' official bio currently found in her champion page in-game.
A being from beyond the void, Seris was summoned into the Realm and needed a form, one she found in that of Abby. Destroying the town that would be her namesake, she set out to be Oracle to the Abyss' reign.
Draining the souls of her enemies and occasionally restoring them to her allies, however, pales in comparison to her unnatural prescience, granting her the ability to see into the past and predict the future all at once. She appears here and there in time and space, always at the opportune moment to change the course of events toward some unknown but seemingly inevitable fate.
This is an unofficial version of Seris' bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding her. Sources can be found here.
Long ago, the Abyssal Lord that would later come to be known as Seris approached Nyx, one of the Pyre Lords; Nyx had grown disillusioned with the Pyre's controlling nature and wished to show them true freedom. The Abyssal Lord helped Nyx betray the Pyre by having Nyx travel through one of her portals into Abyss, where Nyx would soon cement herself as an Abyssal Lord.
Much later, in the Realm itself, a normal girl named Abby lived peacefully in the village of Seris alongside her sister, Sarah. Until one day, Corvus arrived; he believed sacrificing someone to the Abyssal portal within the village would prevent anything disastrous from occurring, and Abby was the one chosen to be sacrificed. While Sarah tried to prevent her from being taken, she was no match for the Magistrate, and Abby was taken away, with only a lock of her hair left for Sarah as a memento.
Following this, the sacrifice would begin, however, it soon became apparent the Abyss did not hunger for a soul to satiate its hunger, but for a body to control. The Abyssal Lord that appeared took Abby and destroyed the entire village. From the ruins, emerged the girl, having merged with the Abyssal Lord and become an entirely new entity. Taking the name of the village it had just destroyed, Seris now roams the Realm, mysteriously appearing here and there as part of a larger plan to rule the Realm.
As part of this plot, Seris would later reappear to Corvus, taking advantage of his desperation to trick him into summoning Raum. Despite this deception, Seris would later seemingly work with Corvus again to fight Yagorath.
This was Seris' in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.
A being from beyond the Void, Seris has taken the name of the city she completely destroyed upon first setting foot in the world of the living.
Summary[ | ]
Seris is a support champion who has a great healing ability that spreads through nearby allies. Her Soul Orb fires projectiles that pass through enemies and apply a mark to them. These marks can then be detonated with Rend Soul for additional damage. They also restore Seris' health per detonation. Restore Soul allows her to quickly restore her target's health but must be channeled. Shadow Travel grants her stealth and grants her damage and crowd control immunity for the duration, allowing her to slip out of dangerous situations. Seris' ultimate skill, Convergence, causes her to throw her soul orb forward which then stuns and pulls any enemy near it, making it a great tide-turner.

Trivia[ | ]
Lore
- While the name of Seris' human body was never stated in the Rise of Furia lore cinematic, it was later revealed to be "Abby".[2]
- Seris is incapable of traveling through time, despite what the wording of her bio may lead some to believe.[3]
- Seris views the past, present, and various futures as possibilities, and using that information, attempts to aim towards bringing about the most likely of these scenarios that she desires.[3]
- Seris herself can't enter the Abyss since merging with Abby, though her orb can freely travel between the Realm and Abyss, with it serving as a link between the two dimensions.[4][5]
- Seris' ultimate goal may be to rule the Realm.[7]
- The character of Seris is an Abyssal entity inhabiting the body of what was once only Abby; however, this is less of the entity just controlling Abby and more the two having merged together and created an entirely new entity.[8][9]
- As a result, Abby doesn't really exist anymore and is unlikely to ever return.[10]
- The entity that caused this is heavily implied to be the Abyssal Lord dragon from Rise of Furia, who itself is named "Seris".[11][12][13]
- Seris fought alongside both the Magistrate and Resistance during the End Times event,[14][15] and on the Magistrate's side during the Siege of Ascension Peak event.[16] Why Seris joined either side or any of these conflict was never explained, though it was said the only reason Seris (alongside other seemingly odd character choices) was included when Siege of Ascension Peak returned in Siege: Beyond was merely because she was part of the event when it initially ran.[17]
- Seris had nothing to do with Corvus obtaining his Abyssal powers, with him gaining his abilities of his own merit.[18][19][20] This would also have been hard for Seris to do, as Corvus already existed and had some power before Seris even first showed up as a force within the Realm.[21]
- Originally, Abby had blue eyes, but after merging with Seris, her eyes changed to purple.[22][23]
- Furia keeps a locket with pictures of her and Abby on her weapon.[24] This can even be seen in-game during Furia's weapon inspect.[25]
- Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall, and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that Seris would be around 5'4 or 164cm tall.

References
- The line "Behold the rider upon a pale steed." (▶️) may be a reference to Revelation 6:8 "And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth."
- The joke "To err is human. To forgive is not something I'm capable of." (▶️) is a reference to a quote by Alexander Pope.
- Her kill taunt towards Maeve "Was that your tenth life?" (▶️) references the myth that cats have nine lives.
- The line "I know things that were, things that are, and some things that have not yet come to pass." (▶️) is a reference to a line from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
- Seris' ultimate voice line "GAZE into the Abyss!" (▶️) may be a reference to a quote by Friedrich Nietzsche.
Concepts
- Numerous early design concepts for Seris can be seen throughout her behind the scenes video.[26][27][28][29]
- Seris was the winner of an old skin competition, which resulted in the Infernal skin being added, followed by the Divine skin at a later date. However, two additional designs, the Voodoo and Egyptian skins, were also shown, yet haven't been seen since in any form.[30]
- A number of additional skin concepts were created for Seris that ultimately went unused; these being viewable here.[31]
- Artwork of a modern variant of Seris reminiscent of the Street Style skins was created, but ultimately never materialized as a skin.[32]
- An image of an aquatic octopus-themed Seris was posted for Seris' 4th anniversary, leading many to wonder if it may be an upcoming or cancelled skin.[33] It was later revealed that it was indeed intended to be a skin, specifically for the Dark Depths Event Pass, but it ultimately had to be cut.[34][35]
- The reason it ended up scrapped was due to the tentacle dress requiring an overwhelming amount of work required in terms of both rigging and animation, and as a result, it wouldn't have been able to release when intended.[36][37]
- This skin went through numerous concept designs prior to being scrapped.[38][39][40][37][35]

- Having been present in the mobile game 'Paladins Strike', Seris received unique skins exclusive to Strike. These skins include Phantasm Seris, Sun Kissed Seris, and Thorn Maiden Seris.
