Lore

Having spent most of his life in the military, Strix was an invaluable member of the Sentinels, tasked with training their elite sharpshooters like Kinessa. He was reassigned after the unit was disbanded — sent to the front lines with the regular army as it prepared to put down the Resistance.

Always the calm and composed professional, he is the master of stealth and camouflage, able to pick off high-value targets before the enemy is even aware of his presence — or that they are under attack at all.

Summary

Strix is one of two snipers along with Kinessa. He is the first champion capable of switching between his primary and secondary weapons. His ultimate is a flashbang grenade, which is a non-lethal ordnance that can blind his enemies for a short period of time. His sniper rifle can deal 1200 damage per round to the body or limb. A headshot can deal 1800 damage, forcing most of his enemies to immediately retreat and hide from him. His pistol deals less damage but is useful for engaging in close-quarters situations.

Pistol: A semi-automatic pistol that shoots every 0.15s, dealing 165 damage. Has a maximum Ammo count of 15 and is fully effective up to 55 units.

This ability deals Direct Damage.
Both weapons can do headshots (1800 Rifle and 330 pistol damage).
Both weapons have reduced accuracy while airborne.
Rifle:
- Is bolt action and has an ammo count of 5.
- Has a reload time of 2.3s.
- Generates 7.75% of ultimate charge per hit.
- Has extremely low accuracy when not using Scope.
Pistol:
- Has an ammo count of 15.
- Has a reload time of 1.3s.

Scope: Look down your scope and greatly increase your Accuracy.
Flare: Fire a Flare that Reveals enemies in a large area. Hitting an enemy with Flare deals 200 damage and an additional 100 damage over 2s. The radius of Flare's Reveal is 45 units and Flare persists for 7 seconds.

This ability deals Direct Damage.
Scope

Can be used while jumping.

Flare

Has a cooldown of 15s.
The projectile will fly for up to 7s or until it hits terrain.
Reveals enemies near the projectile and for 3s in a large area of effect after it explodes.
If the projectile hits a target before exploding, it'll disappear and will instead deal 200 damage to the target, followed by 10 ticks of 10 damage over 2s while burning. The target is revealed for the duration.
Generates a total of 2% ultimate charge if it hits a target.

Enter Stealth and hide yourself from vision. Entering Stealth consumes 33% of your Energy and requires at least 40% Energy to cast. While Stealthed, your Energy is drained over time. Getting too close to an enemy will Reveal you to them.
Passive: You have Energy, which is used to Stealth and regenerates over time.

Has 100 stealth resource.
Has an activation time of .5s.
Instantly consumes 33 resource upon activation.
Consumes 10 resource per second while active.
Cannot be activated below 40 resource.
Regenerates 12 resource per second while inactive and out of combat, 2 resource while in combat.
Resource regeneration starts only after the cooldown is over.
Plays a distinct noise around Strix while the skill is active, which gets louder as the stealth resource get lower.

Lore

According to the Official Paladins Twitter, Strix fighting against Corvus in Corvus' Lore video is canon and Strix has "become disillusioned with the Magistrate". As expanded on here, Strix is still part of the Magistrate, he just wants to know what's going on behind the scenes.

References

Strix's name may have be taken from Strix, an owl of bad omen.
The kill taunt against Ash "How many shots to get to the center of a frontline?" (▶️) is a reference to a phrase commonly assosiated with Tootsie Pops.
The line "Remain silent, and be thought a fool. Or speak, and remove all doubt." (▶️) is a reference to a similar quote by Abraham Lincoln, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."
The emote "360 No Scope" references a technique in games of spinning a character 360 degrees before firing and killing an enemy with a sniper rifle without using the scope.
