The Lost Future is an alternate dark future version of the Realm from which Atlas originates. Through the actions of Corvus, the Darkness would be unleashed and lay waste to the Realm, destroying both the Magistrate and Resistance, as well as killing many, including Karne and Valera. One group remained to fight against the Darkness, but once their final assault on the monsters failed, in a move of desperation, Atlas would study and master the flow of time, allowing him to step into the past and change the course of history towards a brighter future. While this future is no longer the exact outcome of the Realm due to Atlas' time-traveling (as mentioned here and here), what awaits the Realm due to these actions remains to be seen.
Most information on this time period comes from The Fight of the Shattered Desert story, Atlas' teaser trailer, and Yagorath's teaser trailer.
Trivia
- The individual who became corrupted and tore off Atlas' arm was a future version of Vora,[1] though this Vora was not the same person, but a different individual altogether.[2]
- Though Azaan easily defeated Yagorath in the present, he wouldn't be able to defeat the Yagorath from this time period by himself.[3]
- The reason Azaan didn't appear to fight Yagorath in this time period is due to Corvus unleashing the Darkness and not being tricked into summoning Raum, thus with no notable Abyssal threat, Azaan and the Pyre didn't care to appear.[4]
- The various teaser letters for Yagorath were revealed to have been sent by Atlas from this lost future, as stated by some of the influencers involved.
- As mentioned here, this future no longer exists.
