Abyss is one of the maps in Paladins and was released in the Paladins 1.3 update.
Description
This map has an asymmetrical layout that unlike any other map currently in the game, initially starts both teams on spawn platforms that contain a Jump Pad each that leads to the main battleground.
The only Game Mode that is currently playable in this map is Team Deathmatch.

It is revealed that the Abyss map is a residual location left over from the Abyssal Lord, sometime after Furia's destruction of the Dragon Lord. A dark hunger demands satisfaction and hundreds of thousands of souls were consumed by the vile recesses of this lower world as a result...

This surrounds the outside perimeter of the map, making champions with knockback abilities ideal for easy eliminations. Champions that lack flight/teleportation abilities are susceptible to being launched off the map without having any sort of means for recovery...
Special Feature(s)
Jump Pads
They exist in 3 locations on the map;
- 2 on the initial spawn platforms
- 1 on the map itself near one of the 2 spawn areas for the "Pyre's Blessing" powerup.
Functionality-wise, they will propel any champion that touches them into the air in the direction they were moving upon contact.
"Pyre's Blessing" Power-Ups
They can spawn in 1 of 2 locations on the map and will grant full Ultimate Charge to the champion that picks them up.
Details
- Provides 100% Ultimate Charge to the Champion who picks it up
- Initially spawns 40 seconds into the match.
- Respawns every 60 seconds when picked up.
