Stone Keep is one of the maps in Paladins and was released in the Paladins OB41 update. It later received a visual rework in the 4.6 update.
Like every Siege Map, Stone Keep also has certain callouts.

Description[ | ]

This map has mirrored layouts and is designed for 2 teams of 5 players. There is a Capture Point in the middle. The bases are located at opposite ends of the map.

The only Game Mode that is currently playable in this map is Siege.

Lore[ | ]

Trials of the Realm Bio (Original):
"Stone Keep is the birthplace of the Magistrate, formed in the very location from where the Second Goblin Scourge was repelled by the first iteration of the Paladins, the Realm's Champions."[1]

Trials of the Realm Bio (Shadows Update):
"Stone Keep is the birthplace of the Magistrate, formed in the very location from where the Second Goblin Scourge was repelled by the first iteration of the Paladins, the Realm's Champions. The Magistrate's finest, troops and commanders alike, proudly hail from the heart of the Paladins' greatest accomplishment."[2]

Other Information:
As can be seen in Trials of the Realm, this map is part of Crosswind Hold alongside Magistrate's Archives and Splitstone Quarry, as well as Foreman's Rise most likely.

Hazard(s)[ | ]

Cliff Ledges[ | ]

These can be found only on the flank routes near the Spawns, but they regardless make champions with knockback abilities ideal for easy eliminations, as well as punishing Champions that lack flight/teleportation abilities who are therefore susceptible to being launched off the map without having any sort of means for recovery...

In the Trickshot update, Stone Keep received a visual rework.

With this map rework we wanted to accomplish two main goals. 1. We wanted the color scheme and architecture design to very obviously reflect that Stone Keep is a Magistrate City. And 2. We wanted to use this rework to introduce a much more urban environment, something we’ve never really put into Paladins before. We wanted this map to feel more like a bustling medieval metropolis, and we expanded on the skybox to reinforce that. The sheer cliff drop is gone, replaced by a wide swath of additional city buildings across a broad canal. We intended the map to feel more like a small piece of a much larger world instead of a castle sitting alone atop a hill. As for the lighting, we’ve wanted to test multiple lighting scenarios on maps for some time, and this seemed like a good place to start. Thanks to the city setting we were able to integrate many sources of artificial light into the visual design so we could continue to highlight important routes and landmarks in the dark. We’re very excited to see how both versions of this updated map are received and we hope you enjoy playing.

Trivia[ | ]

  • The reworked version of this map is the second map to feature day and night variants, following Serpent Beach originally being set during the day.
  • Though this map has day and night variants, the time on the clock remains the same in both, setting the day map at 10:40 AM, while the night map occrus at 10:40 PM.[3][4]
  • A stained glass window showing a hammer and various Pyre symbols can be seen through a door in one side of the map's spawn rooms.
  • The old version of this map can easily be seen on the old version of Trade District, as shown here, while the new version of this map also appears on the new version of Trade District. However, Trade District itself can't be seen from this map on either version.
  • What appears to be a modified version of the original Paladins' logo could be seen on the old version of this map, though their standard logo also appears throughout the map.[5][6]
  • The statues near the spawn rooms on the old version of this map feature sun-like markings on their backs.[7]
  • A unique tapestry appeared near the capture point on the old version of this map, showing a design reminiscent of an ouroboros, with various other design details.
  • Open scrolls with various markings and symbols could also be found scattered around the old version of this map.
  • During the Open Beta 64 update, many maps had various props added to their spawn rooms to build up hype for the introduction of lore. For Stone Keep, this included Resistance banners, a poster of Old Viktor alongside a Magistrate symbol and the text "Defend the Realm", as well as various supplies. This can be seen in-game here.
  • The church bells high above on the towers could be rung if shot on the old version of this map.
  • The reworked version of this map appears as the background for the Indomitable update, despite the rework not being released prior to or during said update.
    • Its early appearance is also shared with the reworked version of Jaguar Falls, which had an icon of the rework featured in the Custom Game menu of the Indomitable update.
  • The old version of this map was used to represent the village of Seris in Corvus' reveal trailer. As shown in the official map, Stone Keep is not part of the village. This choice was likely made to save on resources.
  • The old version of this map appears in Yagorath's card Collateral Damage.
  • Torvald and Lian's teaser trailers take place on the old version of this map.
  • The modern version of this map appears in Saati's splash art, and by extension, the splash art of her Hot Shot, Iced Out, and Golden skins as well.
